Haulier subcontracting: working in partnership

In recent years TJ has established strong working partnerships with a number of fellow haulage companies to enable us to ensure a balanced supply and demand provision for our valued customers.

TJ subcontracts some work to partner companies when the need arises and this is something that works both ways. It is a great way of ensuring a flexible workforce that can be called upon when needed, but that is not standing dormant when the demand is lower.

This means that as TJ’s own fleet can remain streamlined and well-utilised, cost savings can be made which are passed on to customers, guaranteeing them a service that is excellent value for money.

TJ has a strict selection policy for the companies it chooses to partner with; all potential subcontractors must pass our initial and ongoing audits to ensure they can deliver the same high standard of service that we do.

When TJ won a multi-million pound contract with Tarmac last year, they automatically took on 30 of the existing contract hauliers that Tarmac were employing to ensure continuity and manage the workload effectively and this is continuing to work well.

We currently have dozens of partner haulier companies on our books including other large haulage contractors as well as independent owner-drivers.

Haulier partnership is something that TJ would like to continue to expand upon, so if you’re a haulage company in the South East, South West or Midlands regions who would like to consider joining forces with TJ, please get in touch.

Subcontractor Development Manager, Dan Shortt said:

“These partnerships provide a great, cost-effective way of expanding our provision without the outlay of additional vehicles and staff whilst still providing employment for our industry, allowing us to be more flexible and pass any savings onto our customers. We always prioritise top quality service and great value for money to ensure customer satisfaction and those two things underpin this initiative.”
