TJ’s site at Littlehampton Golf Club is now accepting clean inert soil for recovery and disposal. If your business generates vast amounts of waste soil that you need to dispose of, this could provide the ideal solution. We work with a range of different businesses including those in landscaping, groundworks, utilities, construction, demolition and house building to name a few.
There are many different types and grades of soil. There is a lot of guidance on soil classification available online, including some government advice.
We can provide guidance on the best routes for disposal and whether your soil may need to be treated prior to disposal. Along with our team of consultants, TJ will be able to assist with classifying different soil types by testing samples to see what chemical elements are present. We can assist you with this process, so please get in touch to find out more and get the ball rolling.
TJ has been leading a groundworks project at Littlehampton Golf Club for the past year. The project was split into two phases, with the second due to be completed in 2022. Phase 1 involved modifying and improving three of the club’s 18 holes, as well as constructing a new practice ground for club members’ and visitors’ use.
For the hole modifications, TJ constructed new bunding around the edge of each to create differentiation between the holes and provide a more varied golfing experience for users. The bunds are 20-30ft high and the design mimics the sand dunes that Littlehampton’s West Beach is famed for.
TJ also built a new practice ground for the club, an area where golfers can practice their swing. TJ oversaw the importation of thousands of tonnes of soil to the site to construct the facility and carried out the screening and shaping work required.
Phase 2 of the project has now commenced, which is the infill stage. Only clean inert soil will be used for this in accordance with CL:AIRE protocol. TJ is dedicated to diverting as much waste as possible from landfill and it’s great that soil from other projects can be repurposed in this way, rather than having to take the landfill route.
Prior to disposal you will need to email your soil investigation report to enquiries@tj-transport.co.uk or psmith@tj-transport.co.uk for final approval.
